Tuttle Publishing is seeking a full-time Senior Book Editor in its North Clarendon, Vermont Office. Tuttle publishes about 125 titles each year with a strong focus on Asian-related themes and subjects, from Asian language learning, art and literature to children’s books, history, cooking, crafts, martial arts and travel.


  • Editing and supervision of book projects from signing of contracts to bound books.
  • Manage freelancers to maintain editorial schedule.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing Departments.
  • Present titles at internal editorial and sales meetings.
  • Acquire new titles.


  • Five years of book editing experience.
  • Ability to prioritize work.
  • Strong time management, communication and organizational skills.
  • Solid copy editing and proofreading skills.

Marketing and Publicity Associate

Tuttle Publishing, a leading international publisher of high-quality books about Asia is seeking an energetic Marketing and Publicity Associate to join our team. The successful candidate will develop and execute promotional plans for books in multiple categories. This includes the ability to effectively publicize products by reaching out to journalists and bloggers to obtain product reviews and work directly with authors. This role requires an ability to multitask, an attention to detail and strong communication skills (both verbal and written).

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Identify and develop effective PR opportunities to enhance product discover ability

  • Collaborate with Authors, Editors, Media and Sales Team to execute promotions

  • Research and reach-out to blogs, magazines, and newspapers to obtain book reviews

  • Create, maintain and disseminate digital and print press kits for each title

  • Track and maintain media coverage and press clippings and maintain contact databases

  • Other duties as assigned


  • 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in Publicity, Public Relations, Direct-to-Consumer Product Marketing, Digital Media or Bookstore Sales. A bachelor’s degree is ideal, but not required.
  • Results oriented, self-directed professional with excellent interpersonal verbal and written communications skills

  • Excellent time management and organization skills with the ability to multitask and remain flexible in a rapidly changing environment

  • Ideal candidate will be a self-starter and will have the ability to contribute new ideas

  • Must be proficient in Word and Excel and have experience with photo editing programs, but willing to train as needed

  • Position is located within our North Clarendon, Vermont office
