About the Author:
"The adventure of a lifetime" most aptly describes author Linda Hoffman's 25-year journey in Indonesia. After 10 years in Jakarta, the country's heartbeat, and a brief stint in Bali, for the past 12 years she has been based in Yogyakarta, a university and historically significant town teeming with smart kids from across the archipelago and tourists. Over the years she has traveled throughout the country on public ferries, by horse-drawn carts, in cargo trucks and on foot to delve into the mysteries of the land and its peoples.
